  • World rocked as YouTubers prove you can eventually break an iPad

The question is, how many of these youtubers bought AppleCare on the device and now file a fraudulent claim of "accidental" damage?

  • Apple drops the price of its 10th generation iPad to $349

It's still full of awkward design choices.  It could have been made compatible with iPad air accessories instead of its own crap keyboard, only old pencil support, etc.

At $349 it replaces the entry level iPad, so there's that. It still pretty much sucks otherwise.

  • iPad Air gets a faster processor and a supersized 13-inch option

More and more "trickle down" tech. Choices are great, and today's update is very welcome. The lineup is much more clear, and the pricing attractive at each level - and that will get better over the coming months as the sales hit.

Really interested in what WWDC will say about padOS now. While all the glamour is all at the top end, I really do hope they continue to work on making iPad easy to use for basic needs. Please add a "gramma mode" to turn off all the complex gestures. Or hey, if all that is built-in already (and hidden in various places) someone can offer a script for us family members that are the designated IT bitches when the call comes, "this damn thing is broken! I can't print any of my email anymore!"
While iPads are awesome, they SUCK for offering remote support.  Only Apple gets to control them remotely.  You can set up MDM to give yourself a little bit of control on settings remotely, but if they get stuck and you need to help them, it's not possible to take control like you can with a Mac.  Super frustrating!!

  • New 12.9-inch iPad Air may not be a large-screen bargain

The current iPad Air is kind of awkward in the lineup, given that the $599 base model only has 64gb of storage (which probably isn’t enough for most people, especially at that price), and the next level up only costs $50 less than an iPad Pro 128gb (which is enough for many people). And that $50 gets you a lot of extra stuff. It’ll be interesting to see the base storage for the new models—it’ll make a bigger difference for most people than a screen upgrade, unless the screen also makes the device significantly sleeker and lighter.
Apple's iPad strategy seems to be to offer an iPad at every possible price point.  There's no clear line or jumps to next levels.  Everywhere you turn, just add a couple more dollars and you're at the next level.

  • Apple IDs may be renamed 'Apple Accounts' by the end of 2024

If only there was a way to explain to my technophobe friend that the password for her AppleID account which is her gmail email address is NOT the google password for that account. I tried. Many times. No, all she does is get a password reset, changes the password triggering a cascade of problems.
the amount of dumb  people who do this is maddening.
Sweet “IT guy” attitude, dude. Human tip: to non-IT people, this confusion is understandable. It does *not* infer they are dumb or lacking in intelligence. It’s simply a different domain than theirs. Imagine if your doctor or dentist called you dumb for not knowing basic things to them?
The problem is, you can't even explain this concept to some people.  There are very smart people that just turn into potato mush when the word 'computer' is mentioned.

The concept of a username/password used for websites isn't difficult, but people just don't get it.  There are also people that don't understand that Apple and Google are completely different companies.  It's mind blowing.
