  • Threads hasn't been alive for a day, and Twitter is already threatening to sue

I personally feel folks need to leave Musk alone.  He bought Twitter.  He can and SHOULD try things.  You win sometimes and you lose sometimes.  Not all decisions are good.  But CHANGE is better than what the old Twitter did.

I am mainly writing this post because I spotted a separate article here on AppleInsider today entitled "How to delete your Twitter account on iOS & the web."  I couldn't help but feel that was pushing the "We think Twitter is bad, and we think you should feel that way too" narrative.  And what do you know?  Comments are BANNED under that article, thereby giving credence to my suspicions.

The world has gone mad.  The very fact people spend so much time on social media is partly evidence of that.  Calm down.  Take a deep breath.  Look outside at the beautiful world instead of your mobile phone.  Think positive thoughts rather than be so critical.  There is a batter way.  Most people simply chose not to pursue it.
So, people should leave Musk alone but you get to lecture everyone else and tell them what to do.?

The cult of Elon is really something to behold.

  • Plant-based marketing campaign uses Steve Jobs & faces potential conflict with Apple

Jobs is my hero, but I don't agree with his statement that milk is "bad for you". Reminds me of an anti-vaxxer mentality. :p  If there is anything bad about store-bought milk, it would be the production process, not the milk itself.

Does Jobs eat cheese? Cheese is made of milk, right? Westerners are so crazy about cheese. This translates into the popularity of pizza. But I heard that goat cheese is much beneficial than cheese.
Steve Jobs was vegan which means he didn’t eat cheese and apparently has something to do with Nazis.

In three years, a MacBook Air will be faster than this machine.
And the VisionPro will no longer require a headset. Or a battery. You'll wear a beanie with a wind-powered propeller on top, and there will be a holographic heads-up display in the air in front of you. There will be special-edition beanies to support various groups:

Hey, look at that! You are being a raging asshole for no particular reason. At least you are constant.

Instead of jumping to insult someone you might have wanted to look at the performance increase the M2 got and how it compared to the M1 Ultra. If you did that you would have noticed that the comment that you were quick to belittle wasn't that far fetched. In three years the basic M series will mostly certainly out perform the M2 Ultra in single core scores. It will be pretty close on multi.

  • Apple wants to build 324,000 square feet of office space in North Carolina

About five years ago I recall Tim Cook (and others) calling on people to boycott North Carolina over its bathroom laws, which restricted users to the bathroom of their biology.

I did some googling and it appears that North Carolina revoked its original bathroom law, but replaced it with something 50% weaker. I.e., it's no longer illegal to use the wrong bathroom, but if you do, and the owner stops you, you will have no legal recourse to sue the owner. That's still fairly restrictive.

Apparently Apple considers the new law "good enough." I'm surprised. Has Apple caved on transgender issues?

North Carolina's current governor, a Democrat, unseated the Republican governor five years ago in part because of this bathroom law. But North Carolina still has a Republican House, a Republican Senate, and voted for Trump. That's another reason to be surprised Apple would move there.
Tim Cook never called for a boycott of North Carolina. He was a co-signed a letter from the HRC that called for the law to be repealed.

  • NBCUniversal ad exec Linda Yaccarino will be the new Twitter CEO

She's the CEO in name only. She was hired to sell advertising, period. Regardless of titles, Musk remains the de facto CEO of Twitter and under his control Twitter will continue to devolve into the cesspool he is making it.

Or, in other words, advertisers will continue to flee Twitter because, really, who wants their product associated with the rants of white nationalist lunatics?
Above all else Twitter is an adverting platform. Having a successful adverting executive run an advertising company does make sense.
Doesn't matter if advertisers won't spend money with twitter because it's such a fucking RWNJ cesspit now (despite how wonderful she *might* be), especially now that they're looking at bringing the advertiser repeller (Fucker Carlson) to the platform.

As someone else pointed out, what a moron for paying $44B for a platform and turning it into something he could have bought (Parler) for ~$200. Musk thinks he's Midas, the results say the opposite.
You seem to be reading my comment as some sort of endorsement of Twitter or Musk. It isn't the guy is a complete nob and I'm fairly convinced that Twitter will implode or be sold off at an incredible loss. My point that if your business is adverting then having someone that has success at an executive level isn't a bad choice to run it. She is qualified for the job. Plenty of qualified and talented have not failed to save a floundering company.
