  • Bill to boost US chip manufacturing clears Senate hurdle

It would be nice for us pleabs to see the text of the bill before we decide if it’s a good use of our taxes or not. I assume it’s jam packed with all kinds of pork, just like the American rescue plan and the so called infrastructure bill.
How about we take all that unspent Covid money and use that? The Covid money that wasn’t stolen outright anyway.
You know these things are posted for for the public to see right?

  • Twitter will face Elon Musk in court in October

It will be interesting to see what Elon’s lawyers come up with. A trial could hurt Twitter more than Elon if/when discovery finds it’s loaded with fake accounts and bots. Have to wonder if any government agency has control over how Twitter operates. Seems everyone is telling Apple how they can operate so why not Twitter.
That's a weird statement. It's like saying "A trial cold hurt Elon Musk more than Twitter if/when discovery finds out he lied about his reasons for backing out of the deal." Of course discovery is going harm a party acted maliciously, that is the case with any trial.

Also, Elon Musk has to show that Twitter knew that the information provided to the SEC was incorrect. It isn't enough show simply show there are more bots than Twitter has claimed he has to show Twitter was intentionally misleading. Those are two very different things.

I'd honestly be surprised if Twitter filed this lawsuit knowing that they have information that shows they lied to the SEC. Losing the lawsuit would be the least of their problems if that were the case.

  • There are only a few good reasons to buy the new 13-inch MacBook Pro

This whole article is a good example of  how tech punditry  is an echo chamber that can't see past their very narrow needs and is just out of touch with consumers at large.

Per Apple, this is the second best selling notebook model in the PC space. That may be a dubious claim but it does make this the second best selling Mac in Apple's line up. So clearly consumers see value in it and are buying them in fairly large number. That AI contributors and commentators don't get that says more about them being out of touch with consumer needs and buying habits than it does about the 13 inch MacBook Pro.

  • Craig Federighi promises iPad Stage Management improvements coming

Seems like weird defensive posturing to claim that they already know about all the issues and they'll be fixed in later releases.  Just say you're thankful for constructive feedback and improvements are coming, preferably with a timescale, even a vague one.
I feel like he is just explaining software development not being defensive. Isn’t “I mean that that's coming in seed two or seed three!' a vague timeline?

Maybe your comment was directed toward a different part of the article.
