  • This designer's vision offers a clear window into Apple's next big OS update

Nasty. After all the moving forward, we are going back to skeuomorphism? Please God no. It was fun for a long time, then we moved on to a more authentic, refined, and clean UI/UX. This just looks like a giant backwards step.
Skeuomorphism never left iOS. Perhaps you don’t use Calendar, Calculator, Notes, Wallet or the number of other places it is present in iOS or maybe you are confused on what skeuomorphic is. The latter is pretty common.
In a world where tech is moving to mixed reality, making digital objects look and behave like real ones is essential. visionOS is spatial skeuomorphism and applying that design to other operating systems brings those values with it.
Agreed, but I'm not the person arguing against it. I was pointing out that it never left iOS. I disagree with how you describe skeuomorphism though. It isn't looks and behaves like real objects. It is using design elements from the original thing to make the derivative thing recognizable. Take the calendar app for example. The UI doesn't completely mimic a physical calendar, it retains enough references to the design elements of a physical calendar that we instantly understand what it is and how to use it even though we have never used the digital version before. And yeah, it is super useful. It is also, to your point, a good idea to have the same elements across all platforms since users will instantly recognize it even if they have never used the platform.

  • Trump trade war delays Apple Intelligence's debut in China

China gonna China. But it's not like everyone is clamoring for th current version of Apple's AI.
Srsly. I use the enterprise version of ChatGPT almost every day for real work. All I’ve used apple intelligence for is Genmoji.

Anybody arguing Apple isn’t behind is either a hopelessly delusional fan or just knows nothing about what others in this field are doing.
Has Apple ever stated that they even want to compete with ChatGPT? To the best of my knowledge they haven’t. I mean, Apple is also behind in DHCP servers, they are behind on their ride share app, they are behind on a lot of things because they don’t compete in spaces. You are starting from a faulty premise. Why does Apple need a chatbot? No one has really answered they. They just kind of assumed that they do and then declared them behind. ChatGPT is great. I haven’t dabbled much with Gemini, Co-Pilot or whatever Meta calls their thing but I could. All of these things are available on my iPhone and Mac. As a user I am not missing out on anything and all of these chatbots need a platform to run on. Apple has some of the most popular platforms. And going a step further, no one is making a profit off their chat bot. The only company making money is NVIDIA. So, what exactly is the issue, I’d love for someone to explain it without just mindlessly repeating the “Apple is behind”narrative.

  • Five more iOS 26 features leak from a reliable source

Ha. Apple Intelligence can’t even accurately summarize text in my native language, how am I to trust its translations?
iOS has had a translation feature for 5 years. What issues have you had with it?

  • Lighter than normal WWDC expected without significant Apple Intelligence upgrades

Why not skip WWDC2025 for first time?

    Rotten Apple.

If it is true, AAPL will tank again with a timid upgrade..
But iPhone has been boring since iPhone 12.

The last exciting moment was iPhone X.
Trolling is a pretty easy thing to do. It’s 2025 and there are no shortage of examples out there. Given that, it makes your comments uncomfortable to read. At least put in some effort and if it’s a skill you don’t have then just try something else.  This  is getting embarrassing, like I feel embarrassment for you.
