  • Apple speeds up iPhone 16 USB-C charging with 45W upgrade

Knowing Apple, 45W charging will require an overpriced proprietary Apple charger and "special" cable.
The current cable in the box supports up to 60W

  • Want to try Apple Vision Pro? Apple has plenty of appointments

If you wear hard lenses and can't use glasses (as is my situation), you can't try out the Vision Pro. Before showing up for the 30-minute demo, Apple sends a vision questionnaire, and asks whether you wear lenses. In my case, I wear hard lenses because of my particular eye condition, and glasses don't correct enough to work for me. For that reason, I won't be buying Zeiss lenses, and wouldn't have anyway just to be able to demo the Vision Pro (with no intention to buy it).

Not exactly following. You mean you wear "hard lenses" as in hard contact lenses because spectacles won't work for you? And your "hard lenses" on your eyes won't work in a demo?  I too have a vision defect that might interfere with being able to use AVP (one eye is uncorrectable, but necessary for me to get peripheral and stereo vision.) Apple is famous for adaptive technologies, so I'm curious what accommodations might be made in a trial.
Yup. They mean hard contact lenses. I think they cause a reflection with the technology so it’s hard to work around. I know in assistive support you can make it work for one eye and there are other ways to adjust but I’m not totally familiar with the accessibility options in Apple Vision Pro.

Edit: Apple has a support page

    https://support.apple.com/en-us/HT214019

“Cosmetic contact lenses aren’t compatible with Apple Vision Pro and should be removed before using the device.

If you use hard contact lenses, it might impact your experience with Apple Vision Pro.”

  • Please don't use the Apple Vision Pro while driving [u]

This isn’t possible and it’s a fake video. When Apple Vision Pro notices motion in a vehicle it makes the windows disappear.

Look at Casey Neistat’s video. When he went on the subway it stopped working. The only option to detect motion is on an airplane currently. Now I know why.

  • Apple debuts third-generation Apple Pencil with USB-C charging

If it’s basically just a generic stylus… I don’t see the point. It sounds like a horrible product. I also have to say thank god I have a gen 2! I use the Magnetic Charging all the time-so useful and efficient. And to reduce the artistic flexibility is also just bizarre. This seems like a totally misguided cheapening of a product. if I want a cheap stylus they’re available everywhere already.
No. This has its place and the Gen 2 is still available. It’s $50 less so a lot of people will benefit from this.

  • Apple's 'Mother Nature' sketch was a complete dud, and didn't belong in the iPhone 15 even...

    I respectively disagree.

This event had an announcement of the biggest breakthrough in clean technology that I have ever seen, especially at the scale Apple delivers.

    The skit worked for me.
