  • Masimo CEO: Apple users are better off without Apple Watch pulse oximetry

As someone who has had the experience of Apple Watch catching a heart issue (that unless it had I might not be here writing this) and underwent a battery of testing prior to two major surgeries, I can say with total certainty that Kiani is just throwing shade. I’ve had my Ultra on for every blood-ox test and compared my watch’s results against the “medical grade” testing equipment. The watch was SPOT ON.
Never once was it more than 1% off of the “official” results.
I do feel for the guy. As our consumer tech gets better and better even high end medical gadgets will, are, getting sherlocked. But seriously: don't poke the bear.

You’re not stating anything he’s talking about, though.

  • Apple offers Austin relocation to 121 San Diego employees in office closure

There is a reason California is number  one in people leaving the state. Overpriced housing, overstuffed roads and anti business, most companies that can are looking to shrink their California footprint, Apple is no different.  If it weren't for the, weather which I like , the state would be emptying even faster.  And Austin is leading Texas into becoming the next California minus the good weather.

And it’s increasingly obvious that businesses don’t give a flying f*** about human beings.  CA is an “at will” employment state, so it’s just plain lying to call it anti business. It’s got the largest economy of any state.  Apple has been expanding all over for a very long time, so to try to ascribe this as some kind of CA to TX exodus is just plain wrong.

Ugh, having to trade San Diego for Texas!
I get this but still, it's at least the blue portion of the red state so it's not quite a bad. It's like where I live in Orlando where yeah it's in Florida but it's nothing like the majority of the state. Is that enough for some people? IDK...

Of course it is.  State laws still apply. Austin doesn’t get to override anything about women’s rights. Or gun laws. Or LGBTQ anything.  Texas is Texas.

Compensation is NOT salary.    Compensation includes incentives (usually stock options) that are performance based.  And I think few would argue that TC hasn't been an exceptional CEO at Apple consistently setting performance records each year.   For accurate salary and compensation, as a long term shareholder, I'll read the 10K when it is released
No single person deserves the kind of pay CEOs get, but to say that Cook hasn't been exceptional in where he's taken Apple since August 2011 til now is....what TF would it take to be exceptional?
