    What utter nonsense. 
    Google and Facebook won’t be blocking CBC or any other news sites. They just won’t be sharing links to them. 
    Not sharing a link to a public website is not blocking anything.

    If I tell you to go look at an article on CBC and share a link here for you, should this web site have to pay for the link to CBC?

     Of course not. 
    A link tax is ridiculous.
