  • Apple Music is the second most used music streaming service globally, Spotify remains in t...

There are a lot of ISPs that offer 'free Spotify' as an incentive to sign a mobile contract with them - a lot of people in my country get Spotify through that and that offer wasn't available they probably wouldn't be interested.  There is nothing for AppleMusic (at least in my country).
I have heard of some ISPs in Australia that offer Apple Music as well but I don't know if they still do it.

  • The best video playback apps for Mac

Where is Optimus?  It's currently one of the only players that can play HDR content, in HDR, on the new Macbook Pros.  I love VLC and IINA, but they just tone-map HDR content down into SDR when you play an HDR file on them.  It looks flat and dull compared to Optimus.
I had a peek at that. It looks good, but I don’t want to email someone my credit card details to get a licence. Just seems too insecure, but if he used a payment processor I was familiar with then sure I would give it a whirl.

  • Apple Watch more popular than Rolex & iPhone dominant with teens

Very interesting article, thanks for the post.

I was very surprised to hear the iPhone and Apple Watch penetration levels in the US Gen Z market.  Those are some very high percentages for some quite expensive pieces of hardware.  In my country Apple seems to have a high penetration in the commuter set of customers but teens seem to be a more mixed bag between Apple/Android devices, I guess because we are not as wealthy a country as the USA.

Still, overall some great news for Apple in the teen USA market, hopefully those young folk will continue to be Apple users as they leave their teenage years behind them.

  • Apple radically expands privacy features on Mail, Safari, apps, and Siri

I understand that Siri will do on device processing, but what about Dictation?  That is a super handy little function, particularly for Messages when conversing with people who just don't like voice messages.

Very impressed with the privacy initiatives, Apple.  Keep them coming!

  • Apple reveals further details about AirTag's anti-stalking feature

There’s a use case within that three day stalking window that, while unethical, is certainly feasible.   Your partner, I’ll use girlfriend as that’s my situation...  your girlfriend goes out occasionally for a girls’ night out and returns home well past midnight.  You become suspicious so tag her handbag or even car before she goes out.  Then, a few times during the evening you search for that air tag.  She’s not going to get alerted, but you’ll know if she’s no longer at the restaurant or club she claims the girls frequent.  You’ll potentially even know the hotel or residential address where she went, assuming she’s cheating.  And she’ll be back within 24 hours, or less if she’s trying to cover her tracks; she’s not likely to not come home for three days.
Hi Radar, my understanding is that the 3 day window only applies to the Airbags automatically emitting a sound if their paired iPhone has not been nearby for that time.  In your scenario above Apple say that the Airtag will know if it is moving along with somebody who does not have their paired phone.  It will pop up an alert on the girlfriends Find My app where she can tell it to emit the sound to find said Airtag.  Then you are busted.

I assume they would have tested the heck out of this to ensure it works as described.
