And here I was hoping that my (big four) Australian bank had caved in. Guess I'll just have to transfer my life savings to Firefighters Mutual Bank  :D

Or you could move to ANZ if you want to stick with a big bank. I made the switch and even without ApplePay I would still be happy with them. But getting ApplePay was definitely worth the trouble of swapping banks. I wouldn't be holding my breath for any of the other big 4 to get on board soon.
Yeah it was relatively painless switching from BNZ to ANZ. They handled all the APs and DDs.

BNZ are really hyping their Android Pay functionality. Bye!

  • Google Maps gets location sharing for Apple's iPhone & iPad

Any word on if this new version of Latitude works with FMF?
So Google losers, whoops users could share their location with me while I use FMF....

Probably not, but thought it worth asking.

  • Apple Pay VP says Australian banks short-circuited adoption by sidestepping talks

In NZ it is exactly the same (as the banks are almost all Aussie owned). BNZ have come out with Android Pay and are pushing it quite hard.

So I dropped BNZ and now all my banking is with ANZ. BNZ have been really good, but the blocking of ApplePay really ticked me off. There were other reasons as well, of course.

  • Ex-Apple director Lattner striving to make cars an 'appliance' at Tesla

Chris has a huge rep in the Valley.
I was sad to see him go, but Apple and Tesla are the two companies making the biggest dent in the world right now in terms of Tech (imho).

Like many other posters have stated, Teslas are just a big computer on wheels and Autopilot is where most auto companies are hoping to go.  I can see the connection between his previous job and his new role at Tesla.
If anyone can push Autopilot towards widespread acceptance and usage it is Chris & the team he is now running.  Funnily enough he has exactly the same view of cars as me.

  • Apple activates iCloud.com Calendar spam reporting feature

But isn't there a need to decline without a response? I might not want to send a response, but that doesn't mean the original invitation was spam.
Yes.  By reporting it as Spam as per the article the 'invite' is deleted from your calendar without tipping off the spammers.  Apple also sees what has been reported as Junk to hopefully deal with the spammers with appropriate & proportional retribution.    Personally I think it is best to nuke them from orbit.  It's the only way to be sure.
