  • Tantalizing details of Jony Ive's AI device leak after OpenAI meeting

Couldn't be more obvious that this is going to be trash.

  • OpenAI's $6.5B bet on Jony Ive could redefine how people interact with technology

After reading John Gruber´s articles "something is rotten at Apple" and John Siracusa´s article "Apple Turnover", I have to say that something is really rotten at Apple.

Apple is behind in AI (LLM, Siri, their GPU capacity, human resources for AI etc.).
Apple is behind in their HW. Apple is launching foldables.... when??

Apple has been rotten with their timid updates for iPhones. Camera gets better and better, but not much.

    iPhone 17´s design is rotten.

    I mean.... What isn´t rotten?

I do not expect too much from io or OpenAI, but I hope they prove me wrong.

At the end, it is due that we really need "cool" devices nobody is thinkg about yet.

    Rotten Apple.
Agree with your general point, but couldn't disagree more with the specifics.  AI is an uncooked and destructive waste of time, and Apple aren't behind in hardware at all, their hardware is better relative to their competition than it has ever been. Software and developer relations is where they are falling over.  They have great products, that are being held back by their maker's greed and lack of care and attention.

  • Apple Glass will get custom Apple Silicon tailored for low power & camera control

Basic common sense to let the ultra powerful iPhones do all the heavy-lifting and Bluetooth them to the glasses. That way the frames can be ultra slim, metal or like regular glasses instead of all of the current manufacturers going down the JOE 90 route.
Lol, "basic common sense" to use a protocol with bandwidth measured in Mbps for so much visual data.  Good one.

  • Future Magic Mouse could detect gestures in the air like Apple Vision Pro

The gesture detection would have to improve.  It's spotty on the AVP.

  • Warren Buffett never made anything but money -- and friends with Apple

"He was very clear to me, he said 'let me just cut through it, if you believe that your stock is undervalued, you should buy your stock,'" Cook said, recounting the call. "I thought that was just the simplest way to look at it."
Smart guy.  Too many financially illiterate people say stock buybacks are a clandestine way to inflate the stock.  They aren't really, and certainly not in the longer term.  They're a way to capitalise on under-appreciated company value to the benefit (mainly) of long term shareholders.  When applied appropriately they're an excellent way to return value by cutting out some of the day trading.
