I am in exactly the same position. I wait for news of the larger 27 inch iMac each year, but not a word at all, nothing. I need the larger screen for work, the smaller screen does not cut it. Many Apple enthusiasts suggest getting a Mac Mini and a larger display, but I prefer the integration of having both in the one, same Apple-made unit. Less cords, a cleaner desk and a system that just works. The very reason that attracted me to Apple in the first place. I have noticed my iMac freezing much more with the latest update, but left without the option to get a new one.
