Apple is selling refurb M4 Macs, but you can find better deals elsewhere
AppleInsider said:However, you can also get an open-box version from Best Buy, which is listed as in "good condition" for $1,314.99 at the time of going to press. That's $44.01 cheaper than Apple's refurbished pricing.
An Apple Refurbished Mac will have all the all the accessories and a new box. And although Apple makes no guarantees of scratch/dent-free refurbished Macs, I have owned three “Apple Refurbished” Macs over the decades and they have always appeared to be without any scratches. Granted: That’s only a sample size of three though. It’s possible I just got lucky three times in a row (in terms of no scratches and such).
If you don’t mind the possibility of scratches, dents, missing accessories and missing box, a “Good” condition open-box Best Buy purchase could certainly be the way to go. However, it’s not comparable to the condition quality of an Apple Refurbished Mac. -
Apple's smart doorbell to utilize MagSafe, ring AirPods Pro
kkqd1337 said:I don't understand the attraction of a battery powered doorbell. Unless it was REALLY impossible to run power to one. But is that ever really the case? Just spend some money and get a power line run to it. One expense will save you a lifetime of pain.
Recharging your doorbell seems like an unnecessary hassle to me.

These are the best iPhone 16e cases that add MagSafe back
Chidoro said:AppleZulu said:Keep in mind that the cases will allow you to use a MagSafe charger, but you're still going to be charging at 7.5 watts, not at 25 watts as you would if the phone actually had MagSafe built in. -
Apple cut too much by removing MagSafe from the iPhone 16e

But at this point MagSafe has been set up as a default feature across the lineup and many people even with older iPhones have a bunch of accessories that take advantage of it. If the point is to get people who’ve been holding on to older phones to upgrade, this seems like a huge step back.
Personally, when I have space I want to save, like my nightstand, I use a MagSafe dock so I can have it standing on edge without having to bother balancing it. It also means getting it to charge more easily than with a cable or laying flat on a non-MagSafe Qi charger. This was especially appreciated not too longer ago after a very long day of travel that kept getting delayed and finally getting home in the middle of the night very exhausted.SuntanIronMan said:If you don’t want it, you won’t want it. That’s perfectly fine (not that you need my blessing or anything, lol).
But I would like to say (if your physical desktop space is too precious): MagSafe might actually be quite useful for you. You can easily and securely stick the MagSafe puck to a wall next to your desk and then your MagSafe charger and iPhone are completely off your desk (and fully out of the way) while charging. Such a use case is a fairly-common one for MagSafe users.
Again, if you won’t want it, you don’t want it. However, if your desktop space is something you are concerned about, you can get your phone and charging cable off your desk and on to a typically-unused surface like the aforementioned wall next to your desk or the side of a refrigerator or maybe the side of the nightstand next to your bed. Any number of things/places that like that.
I don't have a fear of cables, so I'll just keep using what's been working for the last 14 years...
But no, you don’t need to buy multiple MagSafe docks for your home. You can if you want, but that’s not necessary. You can just get some inexpensive double-sided adhesive. The type specifically made for hanging things on walls (that also won’t cause damage to or leave residue on whatever surface you are adhering it to). You can find some any office supply store, hardware store, or Walmart or such.
