iPhone 16e doesn't have MagSafe
Lack of MagSafe is… probably a deal breaker. I was all set to buy this thing (before it was announced). I’m still reading more about it though. But lack of MagSafe… I use MagSafe all the time. I’m using it right now as I’m typing this.
Edit: Okay. I think I’m going to not buy the iPhone 16e. I just really like using MagSafe. I actually recently bought a few of the new versions of the MagSafe chargers (the 2024 updates).
It’s fine though. I don’t NEED a new phone. I’m getting close to needing a new phone, but I can wait a bit longer. My plan now is to wait for the iPhone 17’s release and then pickup the iPhone 16(normal) at a cheaper price. Maybe at Black Friday — Grab the iPhone 16 and the gift card deal that Apple usually has. -
How to turn off Enhanced Visual Search for Photos on iPhone or iPad
Thank you for the article. I just turned it off. Had no idea this was even a feature until just now (as I basically never use Apple Intelligence).
This feature does seem interesting. I might give it a try later, but I will want to learn more about it before I turn it back on. While I’m at it, I’ll see what else I might need to turn off in regards to Apple Intelligence. Thank you again. -
Apple Studio Display update may arrive a year later than expected

I don't want to see Musk near Apple but someone should review project management and product development before Cook is going full Copland/Taligent on us. From Siri and iPadOS to not being focused on AI and still not delivering. Dell is shipping Tandem OLED in laptops and Asus (Asus!) is delivering Pro displays with tech Apple might use in 2026.
iCloud, Apple Music, Apple Card, Apple Pay, Apple TV+, Apple Fitness, Apple News, Apple Arcade… I’m sure forgetting something, but you get my point. Tim Cook transformed (/is transforming) Apple into a massive services company.
And you also forgot some hardware as well: AirPods, HomePod, Apple Watch, AirTag, Vision Pro (you alluded to Vision Pro, but I’m mentioning it again for emphasis). -
Apple now lets you transfer purchases from one Apple Account to another
jdw said:What about people who have an Apple ID and purchases in the USA and another Apple ID and purchases outside the US? (Not European Union, United Kingdom, or India) Say for example, Japan. Is the moving of purchases supported in that case?
I still keep both accounts active because there are some American apps (and whatnot) that I cannot get on the Japan App Store and some Japanese apps that I cannot get on the USA App Store. Which is annoying. I’d (of course) rather have just have one account and not have to switch back and forth to purchase and download something. So (whether it worked out not) I would still need to keep both accounts around and in use.
I am curious what would happen with some of the purchases that are region-specific (after you convert your account region). Would that region-specific stuff not be accessible? I have never converted either of my accounts to a different region, so I am not sure exactly what would happen. If anybody knows, please share your knowledge with me and jdw. -
You can wear an Apple Watch on your ankle, but it's not the best idea for everybody
