  • Apple Watch Series 7 uses same processor as predecessor

…this isn't unprecedented.  It is disappointing.
But why exactly is it disappointing? What is it that the AW6 processor can’t do that you need more power for?

If they realized that their processor capability already surpassed software demands, I commend them for focusing their advancements (Screen seize, fast charging, durability) elsewhere—where people will actually see the benefits!

I imagine they are working on a faster processor and will have it ready when it’s needed—just not to satisfy the spec obsessed.

  • Apple Watch credited with saving man's life after fall

I often go mountain biking on my own. I’ve been thinking I should enable the fall detection but I’m worried that I would trip the warning.
Would it be possible to not notice the pre-call haptic advisement?  The riding can be intense and I don’t want to be calling 911 on accident!

  • M1 MacBook owners complain about easily cracked screens

I closed my 2018 MBP with an errant paperclip inside soon after I bought it. Cracked the screen a cm or two above the hinge. I was bummed, but it seems to be holding up fine since.
Why don’t I do crap like that when the thing is already 5 years old?

It is a failure of an established organization when they do not promote from within.

Exactly! Because every single employee at a company should start in the mail room at 15. Because hiring anyone who worked anywhere else is failure!!
    :s
I guess Apple never should have hired Tim Cook—he came from Compaq after 10 years at IBM and another place. Steve Jobs was CEO of Apple when Apple hired Cook and we all know Jobs was pretty much a failure through and through.

  • Snapback Slim Air Review: the right way to add AirTag to a wallet

I still think a compact wallet with a loop for the AirTag is the perfect solution. I can hold 6-7 cards and some folded money without bulging. The AirTag is movable but secure and the whole thing fits in a front pocket easy!

(i just wish someone offered this solution complete—I used Apple’s key ring holder and the leathers don’t match 100% and I had to buy the steel cord loop separate.)
That looks too cumbersome for me with the extra keychain loop attached and moving around, but to each their own.
Yeah, perfect might be overselling it a little, lol!

But I actually find the moveable AirTag loop to work for me. In my pocket it flips up, so the wallet isn’t fatter, but in my hands it flips down and is convenient to holding in one hand.

Still, of course, a thin tag that works with existing wallet solutions would be ideal. I imagine Apple would be criticized for using a non-standard battery in that case, though…
