  • Actor Justin Long reveals why Steve Jobs rejected over 200 'I'm a Mac' ads

The second best ad series of all time.

Yes, Apple is now a trillion dollar company and in a different stage of life, but it’s simply not the cool iconoclast that it was. The main thing going for it currently is that the others haven’t quite caught up with it, yet. No one still competes across the whole ecosystem.

Looking back, it is really quite mind-boggling how much Jobs and Apple shook things up.
It is difficult to be the cool iconoclast when you've become the trillion-dollar icon. Doesn't mean you can't still be cool, but it does limit your counterculture cred.

  • Questionable report claims iPhone SE, iPhone 6, iPhone 5s won't support iOS 13

Damn! I just upgraded wife & I to SE thinking it'd keep us current for a couple years. Hope this intel's incorrect!

That's not an upgrade. You should have known better.
Disagree. Wife got an SE when they were discontinued because she wanted a phone in a size she could actually hold. It came with iOS 12 in the box, and it would be exceptionally callous (and unusual) of Apple not to allow a single OS upgrade on it.

  • Elizabeth Warren calls for tech giant breakup, with Apple in the cross-hairs

I’m not the least bit worried about Warren’s plan ever becoming law. She’s a radical with radical, untenable ideas, as is AOC.
Many would disagree with you (I'm not necessarily one of them), but history clearly shows that an idea's being radical or even untenable doesn't always preclude its being adopted as law.

  • Apple COO Jeff Williams 'aware' of iPhone, Mac price concerns

Every company has expenses that are not materials cost. Is that really the customer’s burden to bear?
Well, technically, yes. Whether those expenses justify the final retail cost is for each buyer to decide.

  • Grocer Kroger launches QR code-based payment service, snubs Apple Pay

    waltg said:
Never liked Kroger and “their card”!!!! Walmart never asks me for a stinking card to get pricing! little do people know they sell that info to marketing companies and anyone else that comes along. I read an article years ago about those loyalty cards, it talked about the grocers selling your info to health insurance companies so that then they could tell you your eating the wrong foods so your premium will be increased! Don’t think it could happen? Think again!!!!!!!
Kroger may do some of that, but their customer data primarily is used internally. They want to sell more to you, and they use tracking accounts to do it. And they're very good at it.
