  • iPhone 7 Plus Intel or Qualcomm modems at crux of small claims court victory over Apple

Tonight, on Judge Judy... Seriously, never underestimate the power of small claims courts -- even TV ones. About 10 years ago, FedEx knowingly sold worthless additional insurance. A customer had a valuable package destroyed and tried to collect only to be given the runaround. Took FedEx to small claims court... and the case was picked up by Judge Judy. Somehow the FedEx legal team didn't think it would be a really smart idea to settle before their shenanigans were exposed on a hugely popular national TV show. FedEx ended up getting a classic dressing down by America's favorite TV judge, and the fallout cost them millions. All that because they wouldn't make things right.

  • Glucose sensor app said to be first third-party title to access Apple iPhone's NFC

It's been approved and used in Europe for a a couple of years now. I'm pretty sure FDA approval is around the corner. Medicare/Medicaid coverage is going to be a different story, as it's a significant cost increase over the lancet/test strip combo, so I assume in the beginning it will only be covered for special cases (children, people on blood thinners, etc...) and eventually be extended to all as production ramps up and costs go down. An amazing product and it's fantastic that they were able to work with Apple to access NFC. I know they've been supporting Android for a long time but required an external reader for iPhone, that was very disappointing.

  • Apple celebrates holidays with Beer Bash featuring Gwen Stefani

Hmm... I always pictured Apple more as wine and cheese, and Microsft as beer bash, but whatever. :)
Apple set the standard for beer bash culture in the Silicon Valley back in the days of the Apple ][.

  • Apple's 'iPhone 8' rumored to top out at 7.5W for wireless charging

Most people I know have no clue about fast charge and they still use the tiny charger that came with their iPhone because it's convenient, and that charger delivers 5W. To them, wireless chargers deliver a 50% charge speed improvement and the convenience of not having to connect the cord.
I see wireless charging as a wonderful complement to Wireless CarPlay. I've been using a Qi charge tag with my iPhone for over a year, and I love it. While it's not perfect, and I certainly would like to see faster charging, it's great to keep the phone topped off, and it's incredibly convenient. I'm very happy Apple adopted the feature and the dominant Qi standard, which guarantees compatibility with pretty much every car and adapter out there.

Maybe the Trump administration will allow what we all really want... A merger of AT&T and Verizon! Can you imagine?!? That would be awesome. Amazing coverage, and a single entity to handle all our customer service needs, (not that there would be many with a combined company that great!) It would be like Comcast now, who's amazing nationwide network provides fast, affordable internet/television service to millions. We can only hope! MAGA!
    are you kidding?

Then they will jack up the price since they will have a near monopoly
Yes, he was kidding. Although, Comcast does provide fast service, but affordable? Not in my area where they have no real competition. Somehow they seem to have different pricing in the areas where they compete with FiOS.
