New Macs in 2025 rumored to get at least one major design refresh
They need to start having commodity style pricing for Macs, i.e. as time goes down, we can by direct from Apple for a time-lapse discounted price.
For instance I would buy a current M2/M3MacBook Air 15" or MacMini M2 Pro (from Apple) if the $1999.99 models I am looking at were $1599.99. But no? Why? Because we have to flippin' WAIT till October to see if there are any new models. And believe me I understand this gripe has been stated before, but, this is a completely different ball game now that they are controlling the M1, M2, M3 and M4 etc. And picking and choosing debating releasing etc...
I mean are they sitting on stock of MMM2s? M3 MacBook Airs? Or do they completely BTO these days? Like actually BTO? Because if they seriously BTO, then fine there is no stock laying around, but if they have stock laying around get freakin' rid of it and make more or something? Is this making any sense?
Because having to go to these secondary dealers when we have a DAMN Apple Card with NO INTEREST payments is pissing me off. Because honestly it's getting BAD, with this "Better purchase day of release, because forget a 3 month shipping wait." because "Forget it in 6 months a new one (with M#+1) will be out."
Does anyone else see this? Cause it's ridiculous BUY ON RELEASE or DIE attitude! hehe ok I'll stop...

Microsoft latest to weigh in on Apple's EU App Store rules with disapproval
What if M$ and Apple BOTH pulled out of the EU?!? That would be awesome! Just goto war. Either that or Apple, Microsoft, and Google are going to have to keep funding the EU regime, with billions every year, that goes who knows where... Just all three PULL OUT!! And leave um to their own facilities.
Serious, this is huge, first the EU demotes the European monarchies, changes most of the currency, lately they are trying to extort American companies... and the EU Dictators could care less...
How? just keep making stuff/penalties up! -
Apple told EU regulators it has three browsers, all called Safari
chasm said:timpetus said:The DMA is a bunch of BS. Apple should send a message to every customer they know about in the EU explaining the situation, stating that they will stop doing business in the EU, and follow through with that if the DMA isn't repealed. It's in their long-term interest, as compliance will mean giving up their competitive advantage and that will kill any company after a while.
The EU regulators just want to sit up in their high chairs and dictate tech policy, but not actually do the WORK to enforce the policies, and it's the US tech companies duty?!? That's nuts...
Right now the EU looks at how much profits a tech company has and just decide to take a %%% cut. I mean in the old days fines were like "OK $5 million fine." Now it's like how much profit do they have? We're taking 25%! That's extortion!
This is the most disgusting abuse of power without even having to have VOTING in place, it's just their Government dictates to US Companies and they must abide. It's not even a tariff, it's BEEEEYOOOND!
Get a clue, they're TYRANNICAL!! -
Apple Silicon is why 15-inch MacBook Air was possible at all

Hands on with Apple's new 15-inch MacBook Air at WWDC
I get tired of seeing posts like this: "We tried Final Cut Pro and..."
It's like to me this is a Student laptop, or laptop for people who need something for Starbucks. I mean don't get me wrong that is such an A$$hºl3 thing to say, but Final Cut Pro? Why oh why...
It's literally an iWorks laptop (Office), email/calendar, Safari (Chromebook)! Lightweight work anybody?
But every time it's like we've got this tiny small laptop and "Here's how FCP did on it". WHO CARES!?!
Like someone before me posted, "If someone wants to do FCP, (especially REAL FCP), they're gonna get a Pro Line machine, yeesh... I mean come on we all know it's gonna run FCP, but are you really wanting this thing to spectacularly perform?
