In-browser Mac OS 7.0.1 emulation, compatible software suite arrives at the Internet Archi...
It is not obvious but...
The page:
https://archive.org/details/mac_MacOS_7.0.1_compilation
has a big button in the middle of the image at the top of the page.
Click it and wait a few seconds for the emulator run in Safari. You'll probably get to the point where two mouse pointers (one is yours and the other is the emulator's) do not synchronize which makes it quite difficult to point at anything properly. Also, <command>+Q is not trapped and sent to the emulator so bye bye Safari not what you're running in the JS emulator!
Alternatively, following the instructions given at the link above (download the ISO files in the sidebar to the right) and follow the link in the original article (PCE emulator) allows one to compile a non-browser emulator. I did the instructed build and, when I ran the executable in a terminal, I got:% pce-macplus -v -r
pce-macplus version 20170208-df19414

%Most likely a problem with the provided runtime config file but I've not found much help online with getting past this issue ("*** RAM not found at 000000"). I'll post any further progress but might not have much time to investigate (sorry). -

Qualcomm's iPhone 7 Plus modem beats Intel modem in areas with weak signal
Intel has been holding Apple up for well over a year on the Mac side. Intel has been trying to get Apple to use their processor on the iPhone side too. I wonder if Intel has been playing games with delaying Apple until Apple has agreed to use Intel's product in the iPhone. My spider sense is tingling (or just more paranoid than usual). Is it possible that Apple had to commit to use Intel chips (starting with the modem) in the iPhone then Intel would get MacBook Pro Kaby Lake processors into Apple's hands in sufficient quantity for Apple finally to be able to refresh the MBP?
In order to support 4-5k graphics throughput and ThunderBolt 3.1 Apple would need Kaby Lake (not a cut-down version either). Intel does not seem to have been in a cooperative mood so I wonder if they have been holding out on Apple without business quid-pro-quo, putting Apple in a position to be the Beta tester for Intel's modem chip set.
Perhaps now we can get a 5k Apple 27" display too with TB 3.1 and various ports?
Perhaps Intel can be persuaded to fix their iPhone modem chips (can the software drivers make up the gap)?

Mark Zuckerberg voices support for Apple in encryption row, but FBI is winning public mindshare
Apple cannot take possession of the iPhone and crack it for the FBI. That would invalidate any evidence garnered during their possession of the device and make the contents of the device challengeable after they return it to the FBI.
How could Apple provide a new version of iOS to the FBI that would be loadable on the device without wiping its existing user-data?
Here's an interesting read on some more technical requirements with legal repercussions even if Apple could perform the task being asked of them.
