  • Apple defends business practices in motion to dismiss DOJ lawsuit

Bring successful isn't a monopoly.   Being profitable doesn't harm consumers.

For once, the whole Apple vs. Android argument is totally legit.   Android isn't a company, but it IS an ecosystem.  A competing ecosystem.   It has many things iOS does not and so does Apple.

Case closed.  Please send me my check for $100M made out to cash.

  • Delta CEO criticizes Microsoft's fragility, praises Apple's stability

    Hello, Pot?  This is Kettle.

Any airline calling Microsoft "fragile" needs to look at their own horrible financial performance and overall system "fragility"over the decades since the inception of flight.

Isn't every airline one economic blip from bankruptcy?  Delta has already been there (2005).

I'm not saying he isn't wrong.  Please, sue M$ over this.   They'll just blame Cloudstrike.

  • Apple Intelligence vs Grammarly -- AI powered text tool showdown

Other than sending out form letters, I really don’t get the appeal of having AI write for someone.
Have you seen some of the article writing on websites out there that ISN'T bot generated?

There may be just as many people who hate writing an article or email as there are that don't like to make phone calls or talk in person.  Social anxiety to the max!

  • An engineer has built a classic Mac Plus from modern parts

Meh, fab your own chips using lithography equipment you built yourself -- then I'll be impressed.

There's at least one guy on YT doing this.   Homemade everything.

Not to belittle such an endeavor which is akin to the MONster 6502 project, my only question regarding "new" parts is how did he implement the ROM?  Was one even needed?

It's incredible to see how a new generation is recreating the technology of the past.   It give me hope.

  • Apple has reportedly dropped Qualcomm modems on two 2025 iPhones

Shortsighted, It took 13 years for Apple to replace Intel with Apple Silicon see the shambolic Intel today? Apple is well rid of them.
Apple didn't start working on replacing Intel the day after it switched from PowerPC.  It was realized as possible in 2013 when the 64 bit A7 processor launched, IIRC.   We're not really sure when they started, but it was probably about 5-6 years before they announced it.   Apple has to roadmap its plans that far out just to make things happen at all.

Apple Silicon is powerful and will ultimately save Apple billions over Intel.  We're only 4 years in and It's not done maturing.
