    Totally fake, but it's visceral, for sure.   If a 1966 Lincoln was in there, I'd be a bit unhappy.

    This press does not likely exist, but that doesn't mean that it isn't poor taste.

    My guess is they'll add a disclaimer about not harming actual items.  Or just pull it and say nothing.

  • Apple in talks with Rivian, likely over Apple Car revival

    I’ll believe it when I see it or when Apple/Rivian announces something.   

    Rivian is 18-24 months from bankruptcy at their current rate of cash burn.  If Apple spent $10B on their car and has nothing to show for it, Rivian would just be another hole to throw money down.   I want Rivian to succeed. I really do, but the reality is they’re still not gross margin profitable (cost to build more than money brought in when sold).  

    A partnership would be Rivian giving Apple money, which they don’t have.   How could Apple benefit from it?  Rivian needs Apple, not vice-versa.

    Memoji was dumb.  Anything beyond making an avatar was doomed to be forgotten and not used.   

    Ping: never used it.  

    Siri: she can’t understand the simplest commands.   She fails when I’m in a dead zone and just apologizes  for it instead of saying “Sorry,  but I don’t have a good internet connection”.   Also worthless for two commands in a row because she’s not contextual.   

    All this AI has promise,  but make it useful, not a gimmick.
