  • First look: Hands-on with Apple's iPhone X

Hmmm, I first notice how small it is in the hand, after several years with plus model. And to be honest, the notch on the top is not bothering me at all. It was a little bit strange in the beginning though, but it grows on me. Still, I am curious why they opt for this design as oppose to make the whole bar black.
The black bar at top could easily be solved with wallpaper to make it extend across the top.  Maybe in a few generations they'll have a way to put all those sensors behind the screen entirely.

Apple is so unbelievably tone-deaf to the needs of their customers. We want a Smart CASE, not a Smart COVER. The Smart Cover doesn't even protect the iPad, because it attaches with a weak MAGNET! And it doesn't protect the back of the iPad either! The Smart Cover, which Apple no longer makes, is actually a REAL GENUINE HONEST-TO-GOODNESS CASE. It protects both the front and back of the iPad, and it actually firmly snaps onto the iPad -- so your iPad is fully protected at all times. It is beyond ridiculous that Apple stopped making these, but continues to peddle the subpar Smart covers.
As somebody who used to work Apple retail, I assure you that the vast majority of customers only wanted the smart covers.  We rarely sold the full covers, and most of those who wanted that option opted to go 3rd party for something truly heavy duty.  So in general, they are listening to their customers.

Furthermore Apple is really not a case and cover or accessory company.  They are a hardware and software technology company.  If 3rd party solutions are available it doesn't make sense for them to invest R&D designing cases and covers which have relatively low impact on the company's bottom line.

I understand that for us Apple loyalist and pro-users we want Apple branded everything and exactly how we want it.  It may seem like the company is tone deaf, but in reality they're right on the mark for the larger consumer base.

  • Apple's Phil Schiller makes argument for screens on voice assistant devices like Amazon Ec...

The answer is to improve Siri on the phone to be able to perform similar functions to what Amazon echo is performing in terms of shopping and controlling your home and smart devices. Standalone voice assistants like the echo and other devices I believe are going to be a fad. Especially when several people of the house have phones with Siri on them, saying hey Siri could pose a unique problem that Amazon does not have to deal with where multiple devices respond at the same time. As long as my phone is capable of performing the same functions, I do not understand why it would necessary or even makes sense to spend money on an additional separate device in the home.

Everyone on here need to head on over to apple.com/feedback and give them a piece of your mind about the discontinuation of airport routers. Let them know that they are important to you as a customer and maintaining your business. I don't think any of us want to have to buy that ugly ass helicopter router and have it morph into a spider in the middle of the night and eat our families.
This is actually a really great idea. I endorse it!
Are you endorsing going to apple.com/feedback or the router morphing into a spider and eating our families?
