I don’t think AirPods Max are aimed at audiophiles.
Audiophiles sniff at computational audio and laugh at the idea of bluetooth being good enough for their ears.

Airpods Max are aimed at people invested enough in the eco-system that care enough about audio quality that they will pay the price of entry but don’t care enough about neutrality to count them out.

I could be in the target audience for TV and movies (I have spent this amount on a pair of IEMs for example) - but I would want something special in return for sacrificing audio neutrality. A new AppleTV with Spacial Audio support could be just that thing to count me in.

Well, if it’s November then I suspect M2.

But I think earlier M1X laptops with twice the performance cores and twice the gpu cores of the M1 would be more than enough for a laptop.

The M1 CPU is roughly equivalent to the 2019 i9 iMac I got (GPU aside), so twice that performance in a laptop would be something great imho.

I really like mine, perfect for front jeans pocket.

as Neoncat intimated, Octane Render is a renderer, no game creation, no modelling, just rendering of things created in other software.
Unity is a game creation engine and can use Octane Render as can Cinema 4D, Blender etc. 
It’s cool that you get a free year with a MBP Just give me an M1X MBP already! 

If I’m honest it’s surprising that this isn’t already enabled by default.
In a way I think Apple should enable the filter by default - to protect minors from parents that don’t care enough.
I’m not sure that a law should require it however.
