You’re wrong. Anyone can make and sell a web-app product and sell it putside the app-store for free.
The problem is, these greedy devleopers like Spotify and Ms S for xCloud etc. don’t want to have to do any marketing etc.They know they won’t get any downloads unless they use the app-store.
But they could just create web-apps like Steve originally intended.

I don’t want my phone to be as big as a tablet when I take it with me to the pub.
I don’t want a smaller under-powered tablet while I sit on the sofa playing games or in a meeting taking notes.
I’m sure some people will like it, like the people that bought the god awful pda devices that this reminds me of in the 90s

Why the fu** does Apple have to work for everyone else? I hate this idea of "Apple should develop alternatives for". Apple has no obligation to help anyone ESPECIALLY if they want to exit the eco-system or tell Apple how to run their business.
