Ugh, having to trade San Diego for Texas!

Not so much “beaten.” I have stopped shopping at Home Depot after being told numerous times that they would “never” accept ApplePay. Each time the employee way emphatic—even angry—in the response. They seem to have been inculcated with some kind of hostility towards Apple. My local Ace Hardware not only takes ApplePay, but gives an extra 1% cash back. I go there now. 

Now, if most of my devices would just keep working after every Apple OS update. HomeKit is such a pain in the ass I’m ready to junk my whole system and go back to mechanical or inline timers (my Xmas lights go on and off flawlessly).

Sure hope bug fixes include the buggy Books app. Trying to highlight a selection while reading has been a mess since first iOS 17. 

With each iteration of the “personal” computer, we become more detached from the unmediated experience of life. If Vision Pro goggles are the next level, I wonder if the “New iPod” might be next—an actual pod filled with liquid that we’ll climb into, tethered to life support tubes and brain sensors.
