  • Giant 30-inch iMac, iPhone 15, OLED iPads: Apple's roadmap for 2023-2024

Will believe big iMac when I see it. Lucy has pulled the ball away one too many times.

If only the power button would be moved back to the top, so I don’t take screen shots from turning off the display or using volume buttons.
If it becomes an action button, set it as your camera shutter. Not sure if that would be better though.

  • Apple is refining haptic feedback technologies for future Siri Remote

Best remote I have is my TiVo “peanut.”  Fits comfortably in my hand and the controls I use most frequently are intuitively located, easy to access, and have enough resistance to reduce accidental inputs to nil. It’s old fashioned, ugly, and has too many buttons I never use, but it works really well. Supremely functional.

The worst remote I own is my TV one. It’s too small making it difficult to keep properly oriented in my hand. The Siri button on the side (and often others) get inadvertently pushed when I pick it up. The fine-line symbols are hard to see even in daylight—forget in the dark. Illuminated buttons would help except that when held in actuating position, the thumb naturally hovers over to obscure them. Yeah, I know, I should have muscle-memorized their function and position by now. But I haven’t. Maybe because the TiVo is our primary device—use it constantly. My Apple device is a peripheral.

Maybe a third party could blend the best of both? A size midway between the two with that perfectly handleable peanut shape, with fewer buttons than the TiVo but arranged more ergonomically and well marked.

  • Apple TV+ production of 'Metropolis' has shut down permanently

Hoping that Apple settles with writers separately.

  • Apple co-founder selling 14,100-acre property to The Wildlands Conservancy

I hope the sale to the tribe who had this land stolen from them was for a token amount.

Too bad it had been a cattle ranch. My local State Park of about the same size was also a long time cattle ranch. Such usage destroys much of the native flora communities and allows invasives like mustard to replace them. Pristine parcels are hard to come by.

    Still, excellent news.
