IAM CORE files another unfair labor practice charge against Apple with NLRB
beowulfschmidt said:While the employees have every right to unionize, Apple has no "duty" to negotiate at all. If Apple believe their offer is fair and equitable, there is no obligation to change it just because someone else wants them to. It might be wise for them to do so, and a PR problem if they don't, but there's no "duty" to do so.NLRB https://www.nlrb.gov/about-nlrb/rights-we-protect/the-law/bargaining-in-good-faith-with-employees-union-representative
See “duty” to bargain and negotiate in good faith there. -

Apple is refining haptic feedback technologies for future Siri Remote
Best remote I have is my TiVo “peanut.” Fits comfortably in my hand and the controls I use most frequently are intuitively located, easy to access, and have enough resistance to reduce accidental inputs to nil. It’s old fashioned, ugly, and has too many buttons I never use, but it works really well. Supremely functional.
The worst remote I own is my TV one. It’s too small making it difficult to keep properly oriented in my hand. The Siri button on the side (and often others) get inadvertently pushed when I pick it up. The fine-line symbols are hard to see even in daylight—forget in the dark. Illuminated buttons would help except that when held in actuating position, the thumb naturally hovers over to obscure them. Yeah, I know, I should have muscle-memorized their function and position by now. But I haven’t. Maybe because the TiVo is our primary device—use it constantly. My Apple device is a peripheral.Maybe a third party could blend the best of both? A size midway between the two with that perfectly handleable peanut shape, with fewer buttons than the TiVo but arranged more ergonomically and well marked.
