The  DOJ would have no case.
By legal definition, Apple is not a monopoly.  That's why they mapped the floor with Epic Games in court.
I don't know why these people don't just make their own devices and leave Apple alone.

If the EU keeps messing with Apple, I think they should just leave the EU and just operate in the UK.
Let the EU buy and service their devices in the UK for much higher prices or let Spotify build devices for them.

Wait a minute... Isn't OpenAI "Open" as in open source?

Ok,  Apple should go with OpenAI.  
Just contribute some money to the pot and get their models and refine them like Microsoft.
Besides, Apple is already licensing voice recognition for SIRI from Microsoft, since they bought Nuance.

Google will likely be much more expensive than OpenAI and perhaps arguably more refined.

These models are probably mainly standardized and are differentiated mostly by training.
Time will tell.

Yes.  These companies are looking for a free ride.
If they don't want to pay the fees they should go elsewhere or build their own devices.

1.  AI is only part of Apple Car not the whole thing.
2.  The AI engineers are more useful in the Generative AI Group instead of self driving cars at this time.
3.  Apple could not sell cars themselves because of the low margins in that industry and they have had difficulties partnering with car makers.

Here is a prediction for ya...

Apple will buy Canoo and move its automotive engineers there to thrive and let them operate as a separate wholly owned subsidiary.

It is most certainly a solution.
The service is exclusive to the Apple ecosystem and offers much more than selling off-the-shelf software.
