AT&T raises DirecTV Now subscription by $10, shakes up packages for new customers
Wow... I hope this is not a yearly ritual.
They should at least increase the number of simultaneous streams.
I signed up on day 1 for the GoBig package for $35 and now it going to be $50.
If more cable companies like FiOS and Comcast were to offer OTT streaming on AppleTV like Spectrum does, AT&T would lose a lot of customers.

Apple buys patent portfolio from defunct home security camera maker Lighthouse
The Camera, Security and Computer vision patents can have many applications in autonomous systems including self-driving cars.
But then again, Apple may be gearing up to go into home automation.
Apple recently hired Sam Jadallah, former CEO of smart lock company Otto, to head up its smart home initiatives.

Qualcomm's new X55 5G modem is ridiculously fast - but Apple probably won't use it
Apple should stay away from Qualcomm at all costs and continue to work on building its own modems.
Qualcomm modems should get worse treatment from Apple than Google maps in the long run.
Just imagine how damaging the Qualcomm fiasco would have been if Apple were using then in autonomous cars, iPhones, iWatches, iPads, MacBooks etc...
The modem is so critical that Apple needs to own its design and implementation and differentiate itself from the rest just like the CPU and GPU.

Apple's 2019 iPhones to wirelessly charge other devices, sport bigger batteries and froste...
k2kw said:I wish they would put QualComm modems back in so that when they say the new phone is "The Best iPhone we ever made" it would be true.
That title still rests with the iPhone 7/7+ which was the last to have QC. -
Apple to acquire voice app firm PullString in deal worth below $100M, report says
This tool will be essential for SIRI based custom autonomous systems makers. The CEO appears to be very knowledgable in the field.
This should give Apple a good head start in developing a great tool for their SIRI partners.
The tool could be packaged separately or integrated into Xcode. Time will tell.
Here is a nice example in the health care field which Apple is so interested in.
Here is an interesting presentation at Google I/O 2017
