This isn't as simple an answer as you might think it is. A priest might be water tight at keeping a secret (look at all the corruption and child sex claims in the catholic system) but would you really trust one?

The blackmail angle is always a possibility, but when the issue comes to those in office, I always assume every bit of dirt on these people is known to those in the upper echelons of the FBI, CIA and NSA.
