Apple Silicon Mac mini dev kit looks like a desktop iPad Pro
Completely disagree, the ARM chip could have been compared to a Mac mini or whatever Mac they saw fit but they didn’t! They showed FCP and said it’s fast but didn’t even say it’s X times faster than XXX. I’ve been with Apple since 1980 and been an Apple ][, Mac and iPhone develop. They are definitely hiding real speeds. The ARM MAC would be great for a low end Mac Book to get the better battery life buts that’s it. -

Apple made it perfectly clear that ARM is slower than Intel. In fact they screamed it out load if you were listening. There wasn’t a single side by side demo of FCP X running on two Macs doing a long task like rendering. Intel takes 2 minutes while ARM takes 1.5 minutes. That’s all it would’ve taken to show how fast ARM is. The reason, ARM is slower! -
Apple issues statement refuting Google's 'false impression' of iOS security [u]

The importance of Google’s Project Zero cannot be overstated, but the handling of this issue was sloppy and irresponsible. It’s now obvious this was little more than a smear campaign against Apple as the issue was not only fixed in a timely manner 6 months ago, but singling out iOS as the only target was disingenuous when vulnerabilities in Windows and Android were exploited as well.
There is no way the Project Zero team did not know ALL the facts of this “attack” and it’s apparent that Google marketing must’ve stepped in and decided to publicly disclose only certain aspects to disparage iOS. -
Patch for macOS Mojave fixes Boot Camp issue on Fusion Drive Macs
I wonder if this fixes the problem when you have two SSD internal drives and want to use APFS. I have a iMac 27" with a fusion drive. My spinning disk died and I replaced it with an SSD. Now I have the 128GB SSD that came with my iMac and a 1TB SSD from OWC. The macOS would not let you add a Boot Camp partition with this configuration. I figured out how to manually do it but it was a real pain. What I don't like about the workaround is it puts the Windows portion on the 128GB stick which is much faster than the SATA SSD. Normally it puts the MacOS onto the 128GB stick and the Mac runs much faster. I might try starting over with this fix and see if this is the problem it fixed. -
Apple is using a custom connector for the SSD in the new Mac Pro
