Sonos' scrapped MagSafe speaker would have had trouble finding a target market
robin huber said:I, for one, am not sad it was scrapped. The days of boom boxes on shoulders blasting everyone’s ears are long gone and should stay that way. It’s bad enough people speak loudly on speakerphone. Don’t want to hear their playlist too.
I keep a recoding of Scottish bagpipe and drum music on my iPhone, ready to counter any playlist in existence.

UK secretly orders Apple to let it spy on iPhone users worldwide
seanj said:jeffharris said:So, the Brexit-ized, third world UK thinks they can order Apple around?
Good luck with that, blokes.
Isn't it about time Scotland ditched the UK and joined the civilized Scandinavian countries? There was talk of it a while back. -

CalDigit's new Element 5 hub brings more Thunderbolt 5 ports to the Mac
Nice, but still too many USB-A ports!
I have the Element Thunderbolt 4 hub. It’s great, except that it has 4 USB-A ports. That’s four too many.I wish it had ONLY USB-C ports, same for the Element Thunderbolt 5 hub.
Honestly, what is it with companies still saddling devices with USB-A ports? My keyboard and trackball use USB-A. My supposedly Thunderbolt 4 monitor has 4 USB-A ports. Huh?I’ve bought a bunch of cables that go from USB-Whatever to USB-C.
When will USB-A go away?
