  • macOS 26 says goodbye to the classic hard drive icon

That’s kind of a nondescript icon. Apple could do better. Way better.

I still have a zillion icons in my old CandyBar (Panic software icon application) collection, which miraculously still runs in Sequoia!
    Icon Factory had great icons!

  • Car makers reject CarPlay Ultra as an Apple overreach

My wife and I are not car fans. We lease a Honda out of necessity for work.
If it didn’t support Apple CarPlay, we would look elsewhere when our lease is over.

CarPlay vanilla or CarPlay Ultra really doesn’t matter as long as our iPhones connect seamlessly.

My only wish for CarPlay would be the music player interface and the way it displays music information, which currently stinks.
It’s clearly designed for pop music with extremely short album, “song” titles and track information.
The fact that track titles are only about 30 characters, on only one line of text, while the playback progress bar uses the entire width of the screen is ridiculous.

  • macOS Tahoe review -- glossy changes mask genuine improvements

SMALLER TEXT in Finder windows? EGAD!
If anything, there needs to be an option for BIGGER text than the current 16 points!

On a 4K monitor all the dialogue boxes and Open/Save windows have tiny, barely readable text.
Luckily I can move things to my MacBook Pro monitor, but it’s a real pain.

How do people with only ONE high-res monitor manage this?

    Will Apple EVER address this?
Might https://github.com/waydabber/BetterDisplay help? Not quite the answer, but one option.
Yeah, I tried it. All it does is lower the screen resolution.
    Not a solution.

    Appleks workarounds are a joke.
