  • EU lawmakers snub Apple's pleas, overwhelmingly vote to push for charging cable standard

    ElCapitan said:
EU standardization like this tend to spill into the entire European market fast. That will also include the UK, as the UK don't have any mobile phone industry of their own, they basically just have to accept the EU standard.

WRONG. The U.K. is leaving today and won’t be accepting EU diktats anymore. It’s already been announced for example we won’t be adopting the EU’s ridiculous new copyright directive than will prevent a lot of YouTube, Facebook, Instagram postings.

Not having any local mobile phone industry - we do the important stuff instead like ARM Holdings - is irrelevant. This is about consumers, and we will be able to buy things people in the EU aren’t, from Lightning port iPhones to powerful vacuum cleaners (yes the EU actually banned those!)

    Roll on Brexit!!

  • Neil Young rails against 'Fisher-Price' MacBook Pro audio for music production

So the gist of this is that Neil Young doesn’t know how to hook up a decent DAC to a Mac... which is ironic as it’s easier on a Mac as most of them them are USB and Core Audio compliant size you don’t have to install software - unlike the driver nightmare with Windows.

  • Apple says a common charger would handicap innovation, inflate waste

Please don’t say “European law markers”, when “EU bureaucrats” is far more accurate.
Switzerland 🇨🇭, Norway 🇳🇴, and very soon Great Britain 🇬🇧, are in Europe the continent, but not the EU trade bloc. 🇪🇺

BTW to my American friends, this is just another example of why GB 🇬🇧 decided to leave, the obsession by EU bureaucrats to regulate everything and anything.

  • Goldman Sachs rankles at Apple Card's 'created by Apple, not a bank' line

"The first thing you need to know about Goldman Sachs is that it's everywhereThe world's most powerful investment bank is a great vampire squid wrapped around the face of humanity, relentlessly jamming its blood funnel into anything that smells like money."
