  • Apple is buying a treasure in Pixelmator, and we hope it won't get destroyed

    This pretty much fills in Apple’s creative space. I love Pixelmator but I can’t run Pro due to only running a 2014 MBA. That’s going to change now the new Minis have been announced.

    I don’t believe Apple will screw the pooch on this one but they’ve obviously got something planned otherwise there’s no way Apple would buy it. This is going to get interesting.

    Incidentally I find Apple Weather to be quite accurate here in New Zealand to within a couple of hours. It’s hard to do weather here due to terrain, especially living under a conical mountain by the sea. But local weather apps and TV/Radio weather are woefully pathetic.

    What if these so called analysts are making bad predictions in order to drop the price of shares so they can make more money after the announcements when the shares inevitably go up? I know it’s illegal but people who love making money often don’t obey laws.

    I hit the power button on my Mini EVERY DAMNED MORNING.
    And EVERY DAMNED MORNING you're sending an unnecessary power surge through your Mac.
    That hasn’t been true since the early ‘90s. 
    Incorrect. The amount of PCs I saw when I worked in IT have issues because of power being turned off at night and on in the morning was more than you'd think.

    It's actually standard practice in IT these days to NOT turn off the PC/Mac. Energy Star ratings make energy use when in sleep mode a negligible thing these days and allows for updates etc to be pushed out overnight instead of at boot up right when you need to use it.
