  • Apple reports record-breaking $83B in revenue in supply impacted Q3 2022

I worked at Apple for 12 years. While Tim Cook may lack the vision of Steve Jobs, his brilliance as a businessman makes him a worthy successor, and one of the best CEO's in the world. The numbers don't lie, and those numbers have enriched the portfolios of millions, myself included.
No one is Steve.  But Apple became more than Steve after the iPhone and iPad.  His innovative and visionary approach had become Apple’s culture.  Tim and his team were able to take it and mix it with superb business strategy (most notably the shift to subscription services over time).

  • Apple renews sci-fi hit 'For All Mankind' for a fourth season

I’ll disagree with the prevailing view.  This season stacks up equally against the other two.  The way the characters have changed and the alternate historical parallels are fascinating.  Margot’s character seems to have changed the most.  She’s gone full “morally ambiguous manager bitch mode.”   Playing her must be like playing three different characters.  Point is, I’m thrilled it’s been renewed, and surprised.  Obviously it’s fine better than expected, because my understanding is it was supposed to be only three seasons.

Season 3 has incredibly poor scripts, sub-plots are ludicrous and the woman who plays Margot can't act at all.
The script seems as good as the other seasons to me.  The sub plots are fine, and in fact, some are quite interesting.  This includes Margot’s obvious betrayal with giving Sergei the engine designs.  The actress who plays Margot is the same one in seasons 1-2.  Her name is Wrenn Schmidt.  I totally disagree.  She is playing the same character in three decades, from young assistant who breaks the glass ceiling, to veteran, to middle aged and jaded agency head. She’s 39 years old…and I believe each of those versions of her character.  So I completely disagree.

  • Lawmakers urge the Senate to hold a vote on Big Tech antitrust legislation

None of this is going to become law anyway.  At least no time in the foreseeable future, that is. The Senate will block virtually anything that isn’t a bipartisan slam dunk.  It’s midterm season.

  • Apple reaping massive illegal profits from Apple Pay fees on card issuers, lawsuit claims

When issuers stop charging merchants 3-4% on every transaction, we can talk.  Until then, VISA/MC/AMEX/DISCOVER can all cry me a river.
