Apple given an 'F' by US consumer advocacy group over difficult iPhone repairs
Dumb. No one really cares about repairability any more. The devices are solid state and integrated. This means they require less repair. We aren't talking about an x486 from 1995 here. Things like batteries typically last longer than they used to as well. For example, I've replaced the battery on my 2009 MacBook Pro Core 2 Duo three times. I just unloaded my 2015 MBP after 5.5 years of use, and the battery was still at least 80%. Most people really don't have the technical skills to repair these devices anyway. It was different when you'd open up a beige box and swap out a 6 inch RAM module. You know what else I can't really work on anymore? My car. It's been like that for over 20 years. -
Steve Jobs wasn't a good engineer, had to learn communication & sales says Wozniak
This is just Woz trying to keep himself relevant, something he hasn't been in 35 years. Everyone knows Steve wasn't an engineer. He was a visionary. And while he may have learned the technical side of marketing and sales, he clearly had natural abilities in these areas. He knew how to sell a product based on what you could do with it, not just the specs. He was obsessed with beauty and symmetry. Woz was and is a great engineer, but he's never had an ounce of vision. -
Rumored 'Mac Studio' and new Apple display leaked in renders
I don't know...maybe this will pan out, but I don't really get the market for this product. The new iMac is more than powerful enough for anything other than real pro video/photo/design use. It's sleek enough for pretty I am much more inclined to believe we'll see an updated 27" iMac.
And as for the market, I've been around here long enough to know that the Apple Nerds™ are always clamoring for a headless iMac. The thing is, they seem to be the only ones. Anyone disagree? Maybe I'm missing it. -
