This article is ridiculous. It’s not dangerous or worrisome. It’s just a gag. Anyone who is upset by this fake story is an idiot.  This is dangerously close to AppleInsider labeling something “misinformation.“  

This is a bad look for Apple.  It's completely ridiculous.  No one in his or her right mind would confuse the two.  

Yeah I don’t know if there is outrage per se.  More like mockery.  It’s just dumb.  I did find the technical explanation interesting.  That said, the implication seems to be (or maybe I’m inferring) that no matter how it was technically accomplished, it wasn’t done deliberately or pushed by any individual/group.   I have a hard time believing that. I’m not saying it’s Apple, and I’m not saying I have any evidence to support it being deliberate. I certainly don’t think it should be ruled out, especially given where we are in the culture with respect to gender.

But there is also no evidence that it’s actually going to disrupt anything. Taking precautions is good, though. This seems reasonable.

The problem there is you need an industrial-grade IP to even remotely take advantage, unless you’re talking about local networking.  I currently pay about 50 bucks a month for 300 mbs (FiOS).  The highest speed I’ve seen for consumers is 2Gbs.  You can get higher speeds with business plans, but they require special equipment and installation.
