  • Apple files a lawsuit to stop upcoming indie 'Apple Man' film

This is a bad look for Apple.  It's completely ridiculous.  No one in his or her right mind would confuse the two.

  • Apple France to stop bundling EarPods with iPhone

Politicians buy into the anti-consumer hype. How dare phone makers not include chargers and earphones. They are gouging their customers. And so on. Later they find out most of that extra stuff winds up in landfills because consumers use other products they prefer. Suddenly Apple’s argument that it reduces electronic waste makes sense. Go figure.

Passing laws about what they have to include its nanny-statism at its finest.  These things should be consumer-driven.  I personally don't care about EarPods being included, though I do think not including a charging block is cheapskate (not that I really would use its myself).  The thing is, I'm free to communicate my thoughts to Apple, and free to organize others to do the same.  What I don't need is the Feds "protecting me" from big, bad Apple.

Benefits for part-time employees? What a joke. What company offers that? Maybe one percent, if that?
The joke is on you, Broadway Department stores (now Macy’s) had full benefits in 1978 for their part-time employees which was great for going to school (junior college) and working part time ie..no student debt.
In today’s gig economy that benefit is probably is gone at Macy’s….
1978 might as will be a different planet. The entire structure of the economy was different.  My grandfather worked for AT&T for over 40 years. People typically don’t do that today, nor do they have pension plans unless they are in the public sector. Your implication is that it’s realistic to expect full-time benefits with part-time employment today. It isn’t.
In 1978 America was different (march of dimes different), that America made a effort to do better the current one is sliding into Feudalism where most will gig it, rent it, and borrow what they don’t have…
I’m not sure how old you are or how much you know about the era, but do you know how awful things were in 1978?  We were mired in every crisis imaginable.  Massive inflation with only moderate growth, a surge in crime, the Soviet Union on the march, beginnings of another massive oil spike, approaching the Iran hostage crisis and the Soviets invading Afghanistan.  A weak, failed POTUS in the WH.  How is that an effort to do better?

  • Prince Charles, Jony Ive discuss Terra Carta's sustainability push

How brilliant. Just a bunch of puerile criticisms. Looking for a nasty remark about their shoes.

These are sorts of initiatives by HRH  and Ive are needed today and should be complimented.
Here's a criticism:  Charles is a vapid, inbred, amoral ass who knows absolutely nothing about climate science, yet lectures the "little people" about using fossil fuels.  And here's another:  The Terra Carta seal unveiling perfectly encapsulates the world in which these elites (Ive included) live.  It's a world disconnected from reality and that exists only in words and abstracts.  It's a logo for an award presented to companies that necessarily generate more waste than any other organizations in human history.  Amazon? I love Amazon, but claiming it's good for the environment in a stretch.  TSMC? Did they win the award for using Rare Earth metals?

  • DJI among 8 Chinese groups heading onto U.S. investment blacklist

I'm an Air 2s owner (pictured drone), though it's for recreational purposes (meaning I have no financial interest in this).  Having said that, this ban is pointless political theater.  DJI drones are used to surveil Uyghurs? Shocker.  I wonder if they will ban investment in the companies that make street surveillance cameras? The fact is that the U.S. government has been saber rattling with DJI for some time, even back to the previous administration.  The line has been that they are worried about CCP espionage as the drones could "send information to China."   That apparently didn't have legs, so now it's about the drones being used to oppress Uyghurs.  I'm sure that will get the CCP to change its ways.  I see we're still competing in the Olympics, though...

By the way, for anyone in the market, spend the extra $200 and get the Air 2s instead of the Air 2.  The camera is far superior and the range is better.  I have the 2s with smart controller and several batteries.  Highly recommended.
