  • Apple's iPhone SE and Mac mini spring event is on March 8

A more affordable, prosumer grade Apple display, 5k in the 27"-30" range sitting atop a completely redesigned Mac mini with beefed up M1 pro/max capability designed to sit 'invisibly' beneath that display stand and I'm thinking this would be a great iMac replacement.

... in addition to the modular elements that now give MacBook owners an affordable Apple display option or Mac mini owners a solid upgrade option.

I'd like to "Peek" at that

  • Apple's new 27-inch iMac with Apple Silicon - what to expect, and when it might be announc...

Wouldn’t mind seeing this come March/April:

    Mac Mini - M2
    MacBook Air - M2
    21” iMac - M2
    27” iMac - M2

    27” iMac Pro - M1 Pro / M1 Max - 5k
    30” (32”?) iMac Pro - M1 Pro / M1 Max - 6k

My 2015 27” iMac is getting showing its age and my wallet is ready for the right moment

  • Apple publishes new beta version of iCloud web portal, adds Reminders

Whenever I see an added feature or update to iCloud’s web portal I’m hopeful iMessage will be added.  For the life of me I don’t know why it hasn’t been.

I understand that the circumstances are rare where this might be useful - stuck on a pc with wired-only internet access in a govt building with no cell service  (no less than 3 times for me in the last 9 mos).

However, iMessage works as a feature of iCloud on my iOS device with WiFi only access would stand to reason that iClouds web portal should be capable of offering the same functionality.

  • BMW to charge drivers $80 per year for CarPlay access in 2019

Wow - so much knee jerk reactions to what, at most, amounts to maybe a couple hundred dollars.... on a new car that ASP is upwards of $50k (USA).

I’m not suggesting this is a wise business move by BMW.  I want nothing to do with subscription services.  But seriously, if you’ve driven a Bimmer and appreciate the experience enough and have the means to purchase one, are you seriously going to let this niggling  paltry extra dollar amount sway you?

If so, I’d suggest this was never the car for you in the first place.

Full disclosure - I’ve owned 7 BMWs since 1993 and not a one has had CarPlay. Not one of them was ever purchased for such a “luxury” add-on and I’ve never once felt that was the ONE thing that would ever keep me from buying another Bimmer.  Either you appreciate the driving experience or you don’t.

And yes, if you prefer Audi, Benz, Porsche,  Bugatti or some other high end import, then you know what I’m saying. Are you 911 loyalists gonna stop buying them because of some unnecessary luxury feature you really don’t need costing maybe a couple hundred dollars more?  Exactly, didn’t think so.

  • Apple releases finished iOS 10.2.1 update bringing minor fixes

I would be absolutely thrilled to see the random "No Service" issue fixed.  It appears on mine and my wife's, iPads (mini current gen and air2), sitting in the same room with full "bars" of service on the other devices in the house.  Totally random and totally annoying.
