The best thing about the OnePlus 6, for most of the people logging-into this website, is that competition is good.

Every company needs to have some competition to keep on their game. And I'm sure a lot of non-Apple users will buy the OnePlus 6 and be happy with it.

Luckily for Apple, they have a ecosystem for their devices that making investing outside it daunting. But nothing is forever. 

Some of Apple's recent innovations like the TouchBar and facial recognition ID are interesting but not moving for me. The HomePod seems a ho-hum first attempt product. I find the Apple Watch a great adjunct product, that I could no longer live without. But a lot of Apple OS tech these days is disruptive for me. I've gotten to the point where I don't want to upgrade it. Apple (and others) know very well how to subtly push you to toss older hardware and buy new by breaking the software. I've been an Apple user since 1985, and have earned much of my income via Apple products, but I think the company needs fresh vision as well. Being thin isn't everything. I miss a variety of ports. I wish Siri worked better. I wish Apple would make a killer WiFi product rather than killing the line. Ditto a printer. Ditto a large monitor. Apple products tend to like other Apple products. It's worth the extra cost to buy compatible and quality tech. Apple is big enough now that it should be able to offer a complete tech solution for people.

  
I've got two Mac Minis... (actually three, one is a cloned backup of the Mac Mini server)... and I will want to upgrade at some point soon.

I've got a bunch of computers (10) that all have a purpose. The Minis are great for their niche.

What is it with Apple... that doesn't keep up? Irritating, both as a consumer and stock holder.

Tim... look at me... you must support the Mac base. Really. Understand?

As with so much in life:

Pay for quality or get what you pay for.  Evidently people are still paying for Apple quality.

Can Apple improve? Oh yeah... definitely. Don't even get me started... but they're better than the rest, IMHO.

Kudos to Tim Cook and company for continuing Steve Jobs' vision for us Apple Guys.
