  • President Trump is irritated about Apple not completely killing DEI initiatives

Of all the issues that the President of the United States has to address how do Apple's business practices even rank?
slightly more important than renaming the Gulf of Mexico and somewhat lower than using lethal force to colonize two free nations that have made it clear they don't want to be part of the USA.
I get why people are not down with annexing Canada, sovereign nation, ally and all of that Jazz. But hear me out. Canada has a population the that is slightly larger than California. So when you factor that into the electoral college, we wouldn't see a Republican POTUS  again.
I met a few Canadians who were super pro Trump, if we do annex there’s no guarantee there won’t be more.

  • Jony Ive reveals his iMac design took just three weeks

If Ive ran Apple we'll get minimalist designs with minimal functionality, like the weird early ways we charged the Apple Pencil, its lack of an eraser, hockey puck mouse, flipping a mouse over to charge it. Ive tends to lean more on looks than functionality, he rarely balances the two. But I do love the focus on quality, some of my favorites are the Apple Cube and its monitor, original iMac, desk lamp iMac, and original MacBook Air.

  • Apple ends its Qualcomm dependency with the new C1 modem chip

Eliminating Qualcomm modems will save Apple billions annually, as Apple paid around $23 per modem and $8 in patent fees per device
So, should we expect a major price drop this fall? I’m not holding my breath. I expect them to bump the 17 prices up by $100-$200, based on what they did with the 16E.

So Apple was paying Qualcomm $31 per device, if Apple now owns the tech it may cost say $5, a savings of $26. But, Apple had to dish out money to buy Intel's tech, pay employees salaries for a decade without any returns, investing in equipment etc. It would take a good 5 years if not more for a profit to be realized, by then inflation would have taken its toll. So in short, no, we won't see reduced iPhone prices.

  • You can wear an Apple Watch on your ankle, but it's not the best idea for everybody

Speaking of cold weather, when I go hiking in cold weather and warm up my hands in my pockets, it stops recording. Also when I hike and use a stick, it stops recording and keeps pestering me if I want to end my activity.

  • Trump's chip tariff threat takes aim at Apple's TSMC partnership

Apple should build its products in the USA. This is no easy feat, as it requires an entire manufacturing ecosystem of makers and suppliers. But still. Apple has the money to make this happen and the patience to stick with it for the 2 decades it would require. Now that would be a legacy Tim Apple could be proud of.

Intel really screwed up. They missed mobile and then missed AI. Not sure how they get back to being pre-eminent.
Agreed but it's the Federal and State governments that need to think about investing in new cities that are centered around manufacturing and fast transportation. There are many successful examples of how that can be done, from Singapore to Shenzhen. The US tends to focus more on privatizing insurance, prisons, healthcare. Terrible ideas! All that does is wrench more money out of their own citizens and implements invasive laws and practices.
