I believe focusing on OS and feature robustness from the get go is a smart move. This will ideally result in a more rapid and smoother feature deployments in the future. More features and fewer hiccups is a great roadmap if you ask me or most developers... yet strategically ignoring the product team's push to market.

Adobe pulled a similar stunt with Flash when they were trying to make it a key internet technology. Their terms said something like Adobe can require you to pay fees if you have 10K users of your Flash project. So App Store apps that would've been written in Flash could allow Adobe to have you pay royalty. So glad Apple put an end to that tech.

Aaand that's another reason why the iPad won't replace my MacBook anytime soon. Unlike a laptop, the iPad is top heavy when paired with a keyboard.

Here I was, hoping to find compelling reasons to use an iPad as a Mac replacement and why I'd want to, but all I found were specs and fluff.
The only part that tackled the question was "The iPad Pro, however, can be a touch tablet, drawing tablet, laptop, desktop, or gaming machine." So the only difference between it and a Mac is the "touch tablet, drawing tablet"

Lucky family members, now they have a new computer.

I don't know anyone who would consider an iPad as a computer, not even Apple's own ads. But my family members use the iPads to watch videos, browse photos, and read emails. They still use laptops for focus time.
