  • Microsoft's Edge browser comes to Apple's iPad in beta release

It's not the same thing then, because you wouldn't have access to email without a corporate issued device.
Just copy the server info onto your own device. Or can a mail server hardware-restrict access these days?
The corporate url is restricted and encoded multiple times. It only works from a corporate issued device. If you get caught trying to bypass their system, you’ll be immediately terminated and will probably find it impossible to get hired by any company with a paranoid infosec  department :D

Why in god’s name would I install this?
Many large companies offer iPhones and iPads, including the one I work for. However, they install an MDM on iOS devices to control what you can and cannot do. I bet they'll add an option to Windows Server, for infosec IT departments, where they allow full granular control of all the browser's functionality. This way the MDM will not permit Safari to be installed and instead will auto install Edge. Our corporate issued non-prod iOS devices do something similar, they use BlackBerry Work, which is setup to not allow iMessage, Safari, App Store, Contacts, Calendar, or even the camera to work or install. They only allow email, calendar, browsing through the BlackBerry ecosystem, which they claim is more secure. It doesn't even allow Copy/Paste to anything outside BB Work. Until last month, our permitted browser has always been IE, and it was for that level of granularity IT has.

You should see Citi's analytics chart, it's hilarious. I wonder how they come up with those metrics, what is the probability based on?

  • Apple hit with lawsuit after admitting to slowing down iPhones with depleted batteries

Just another person making this world muddy and messy.

Apple doesn't owe anybody any money.
It owes a shit load in taxes and is gonna pay up as per the EU lol. Regarding this situation: if they were transparent then they would not be getting fucked on this deal. They should have made it a feature, and left it to the consumer to decide. When you make calls like this on behalf of the customer, then they will come at you with fangs. More importantly, a prompt should pop up "its time to replace your battery for $80" instead of "lemme slow you down bro w/out telling you bro" etc.

There is a clear cut difference here, and they made a mistake on assuming what each person would want.
My suggestion is a message that says "Your battery is getting to near to its end, so ... do you want to keep going as you are and risk the phone dying on you or allow iOS to slow down some processes to make it last a little longer, totally up to you bro."
Yes that would make sense, but what happened to the 1,000 cycles claim on their batteries? I do remember Apple boasting it a few years back.

1,000 cycles is a little over 3 years if you drain your battery every single day.

  • First look: Apple TV 4K with tweaked Siri remote design

Went to a local Apple Store and tried out the remote, the ring definitely makes it easier to orient the remote. I also wanted to play a 4K movie to see the sharpness, and of course they didn't have any sample purchases. So I tried the trailers in the 4K category, unfortunately the trailers weren't in 4K and I could clearly see blotchy patterns with 1080 detail, the UI was clearly in 4K and super sharp but no real 4K demo. It seems the Apple TV demo units are not well represented.
