  • Former Apple retail head Angela Ahrendts upset 'finely tuned balance'

Apple Stores were never my favorite place to go. But it’s gotten much worse in recent years. I bought a second generation Apple Pencil for my iPad Pro 11 on November 9th. Best Buy and most other stores were OOS at the time. I used in-store pickup, and drove 25 mins to get it at the Apple Store at Crabtree Valley Mall (Raleigh, NC). They checked me in, and it took about 15 mins for someone to bring it out to me. Seemed rather idiotic to me; I can do store pickup at a Best Buy and be in and out within a couple of minutes.

After using it for a couple of weeks, it didn’t really fit my workflow, so I decided to return it on November 19th.

The front person checked me in, then told me to “go over there” and wait for a second person (who was at the time helping another couple with some issue on her iPhone). I waited 10 mins for him to finish with them, then I was able to tell them why I was there — to return an Apple Pencil. He told me to wait by the table with iPhones lined up and someone would be with me “soon”. So I stood there for another 20 mins waiting, playing around on my phone — fuming.

Finally two women came over (one in training) who processed my return and sent me on me way. I was there for just over 30 minutes — just to return a f***ing Apple Pencil.

You spent an HOUR driving each trip to get something you could've ordered online to be delivered by mail in a day or two and are complaining about waiting 15-20 minutes in the busiest retail store ever? Weird.
It was my first time doing in-store pickup for Apple and I wanted it THAT day because the next day we were driving to Orlando on a week long Disney vacation. Based on my experiences at Best Buy, Staples, Lowes, Home Depot, Target (by far the best), and hell even Walmart, I was expecting to go in and out relatively quickly for a simple “order online, pickup in store” purchase.

I don’t understand why you think it’s reasonable to have to sit around and wait 15 mins for a pickup or 30 minutes for a return. If this were any other store, you folks would be livid.

  • Apple Card vs Amazon Prime Rewards Visa: which credit card offers the most cash back and b...

I'm not sure the Amazon 5% cash back is that great.  Yes you can cherry pick items that are less at amazon, but most items can be found at least 5% cheaper elsewhere /w free shipping.  No prime needed at $119 per year.  Many smaller to intermediate  businesses don't charge TN sales tax as they don't do enough $$$ sales to trigger the requirement.  For me anyway I don't see any upside the the Amazon Card. As far as the interest rates go I haven't paid a CC company interest for at least two +  decades.

I use my Amazon card frequently since I shop a lot at Amazon, and it works for me. I use it along with three other cards (primarily) and pull one out depending on the purchase. I have a card for every occasion.

Amazon Rewards: I put all my Amazon purchases (5%) on the card and buy gas with it (2%).
Uber Credit: 4% dining, 3% travel, 2% all online purchases, 1% everything else
Chase Freedom: 1% everyday, 5% quarterly rewards categories (gas, home improvement, grocery stores, etc)
Amex Everyday: I only use it for the special $$$ cash back store offers.

I don’t do cards with annual fees and I pay my balances in full each month. Not really seeing how the Apple Card would really help me much though. Only time I use Apple Pay is at Sheetz for gas.

Can't wait until Apple's in-house ARM chips are ready to kick Intel to the curb.

  • Apple Card: no multi-user support, no penalty rates, foreign transactions, more

I don’t know if it’s just me....But I’ve never been this excited for a credit card before
Why? It’s a middle of the road type of card. I can literally beat the rewards with every purchase I make with my other cards. It’s ok for a general card but not the best by any stretch.
Yeah, not seeing much of a benefit over my go-to rewards card: my Uber rewards card

    No annual fee
$50 in annual credit for digital services (Apple Music, Netflix, Spotify, etc)
    1% back on everything
    2% on all online purchases
    3% back on travel/hotels
    4% back on restaurants
    No reward caps

I never carry a balance so I rack up with this card.

  • Lenovo intros portable 14-inch ThinkVision M14 USB-C monitor

More screen estate... with 14 inch monitors and hard to read text. Right. So let me ask you are going to carry four mobile screens to make it full size large monitor? Maybe Samsung is really onto something with that foldable monitor.
What are you babbling on about?
