  • Apple working on M6 & M7 chips alongside new AI server processor

No need for a MacBook Pro redesign. It’s pretty much perfect in its most recent form.

Hopefully m5 cranks things up. But the real story with be with m6.
What’s expected from M6? Why is it going to be so much better?

Ok. You got me. It may not be “so much better” depending on the choices they mske. But it’s expected to be the first apple silicon on tsmcs 2nm process, enabling a greater amount of performance per watt and run cooler. Or it could enable Apple to pack in a ton more transistors. It’s only a 1 nm difference, but even that has potential to mske a substantial difference. Then again, they could just do a die shrink with minimal design chsnges. However, at the expense of the new process, that is not likely.

So no difference compared to any other die shrink process node.
Going from 2nm to 1nm is a 50% reduction in size...  However, if you apply it to the horizontal dimensions, that gives us a chip that is 75% smaller (or 25% as big).  That would be an amazing jump!  Giving us better speed and reduced power consumption.

(In a related thought...  If this were 2 decades ago...  And being announced by Intel, I might think that it was FUD. ;^)

  • US fights Canada over new tech tax that could cost Apple billions

Taxes will be paid by the customers. Hopefully by those of the country imposing them.

  • How to keep your Apple account safe from scams

Also, phone #s can be spoofed.  I got a series of very informed calls from "Fidelity" about "fraudulent purchases" on my credit card.  They knew its #, and the last 4 of my SSN, and more.  One of the calls seemed to come from the actual Fidelity 800 #.  :^/

I called that # and found reassurance that nothing was going on.
