  • MagSafe on the new MacBook Pro: Everything you need to know

The 14-inch MacBook Pro comes with a 67W charger, but if you want to use the Fast Charge ability to go from zero to 50 percent in only 30 minutes, you'll need at least the 96W charger -- a $20 premium.
Only the 8-core base model M1 Pro comes with a 67W charger. Bump it up to the 10-core or the Max and the charger upgrades to 96W.

  • Satechi GaN USB-C Wall Chargers: faster, better, cheaper

If AI is going to promote these power supplies based on their compact dimensions, shouldn't those dimensions be listed?

And BTW, I wouldn't call any of Apple's chargers "large." Compared to the power supplies that come with most other computer equipment, they're quite compact. That said, it's about time Apple adopted GaN technology for its bundled chargers.

  • New MacBook Pros are coming Oct. 18 and the design remains a mystery

I'm pretty much in the "Ain't broke/don't fix it camp" as far as the MBP form factor goes. Sure, eke out a bit more screen real estate, and definitely upgrade the built in camera, but neither of those things requires any sort of wholesale redesign. My 2016 MBP is still elegantly simple and entirely functional in its design.

But that brings up a few things that Apple actually did break with the current M1 MacBook Pro compared to my old Intel version:
    - Multi-monitor support
    - High RAM option
    - 4 TB ports
    - Meaningful market differentiation from the M1 Air.

It's understandable why that was, based on the new M1 processor being the first and only one of its kind. But now's the time for a significant step forward.

  • Apple Silicon MacBook Pro and AirPods event is on October 18

Good God. On a Monday no less.
Apple used to do Monday events, but attendees complained about having to travel in over the weekend, so they switched to Tuesdays. Now that events are virtual, any day should work.

I'm sure slotting this one in the day before Google's is just a coincidence. Yeah, coincidence, that's it!  ;-)

  • Netgear has a new $1,500 Wi-Fi 6e mesh router

Well Netgear, good luck at that price!
Wonder how much it'll cost this time next year?
