  • Apple execs say iPadOS 15 helps users to multitask with UI changes

I wish multitasking on my iPad Pro could be turned off. I’ve never once wanted it —have a Mac for that —but every now and again I fat finger something and it gets accidentally invoked in the most annoying fashion. The worst is split-screening Safari, which completely screws up whatever I was doing.

Two years working on speaker design. Two months working on new iMac colors. Two minutes working on overall iMac design.
And not even two seconds of worthwhile thought before making your ignorant post.

I'll probably stay out of the market for another 3 or 4 years, and in the meanwhile I'll be monitoring whether someone decides to tackle the Windows virtualization issue (hell, there was Virtual PC back in the PowerPC days, you're telling me Apple Silicon is so underpowered it can't emulate the supposedly low-performance Intel Macs?) If nobody does, this will probably be my last Mac.
A Virtual PC emulation approach isn't going to cut it in today's world — it was barely usable back in those days. The solution to Windows on Apple Silicon is Microsoft's Windows on ARM product running natively in a VM on macOS. Unfortunately Win on ARM is a barely functional product at present, so the fix needs to come from MS. That will happen eventually because of demand by Windows users on their own platforms, not Mac users. But it hasn't happened yet.

And yeah those power cables will be a PITA for the OCD crowd (like me… which may be the reason I don’t fill my home with them)…
Yes. Installing a recessed outlet for power and I/O cables behind a TV is a certain amount of work to do right, but it's not rocket science. I'm surprised at the number of 'hang it on the wall with dangling cables' installations one sees. Fugly!
