  • Apple announces $399 Apple Watch Series 3 with cellular, letting you ditch your iPhone for...

Cripple Watch is the namn of this watch. At least outside US. No LTE and still paying a huge premium. No thanks!
Not true. They listed the countries that would have data enabled (see here ), and I was quite surprised that Telstra and Optus are going to support it at launch. If you're not in one of those countries, then I recommend not buying the Cellular version. (Although it does seem a bit rough they're not offering the Stainless Steel in GPS only.)

  • 25% of Microsoft Surface owners report problems within 2 years, Consumer Reports finds

My Samsung owning friend love his Surface Pro. He rolled his eyes at the MacBook Pro's "USB-C obsession" while secretly wishing for the day it replaces USB-A, B, mini-A, mini-B, micro-A, micro-B standardses.
I can understand his feelings. After all with the MacBook Pro, you have to get a dongle to plug things into the industry standard USB-C connector, while with the Surface Pro, they have a proprietary "Dock Connector" that you can plug absolutely anything in to with the right dongle...

  • Aston Martin & Mini join Apple's roster of CarPlay vehicles

Just don't hold your breath waiting for James Bond to use an iPhone. I'm sure EON Studios have tied up their deal with Sony for a few more years.

I presume they still make phones, I haven't really checked recently.

  • Watch: Hands-on with iOS 11's new Document Scanner

How many scanning and notes based apps just got Sherlocked? I can see myself deleting a couple, at least.

If it does OCR, then a few more have just bought it, too.

    auto-fill from a password manager like 1Password
LOL, you know those services are no more secure, right? OneLogin just got hacked a few days ago. If you guys are truly into security, storing your passwords in the cloud should be the LAST thing for you to be considering.
How would 1Password get hacked like OneLogin? 1Password doesn't store any of your data on their servers. It's your own private vault that you can store locally, sync via your own private Dropbox, iCloud, other services, or just sync a local connect at home without using any cloud-based services. It's encrypted file of your data is literally based on your "one password" that you use to log into your 1Password app. So how exactly can your account information be stolen if the 1password.com website gets hacked?
1Password does now offer a cloud sync service hosted on their servers, but I believe the vault is still encrypted by your key, and they can't access it. Even so, I'm not sure what alternatives ktappe might be suggesting, other than either using the same password everywhere, or writing them all on a piece of paper that they carry with them for when they need to enter their credentials.
