Genuine question: how much innovation is there in Tile? Isn't it just reading the bluetooth IDs of nearby devices and updating the stats on a GPS map? And are the tiles just dumb terminals that do nothing except consume power and emit a static bluetooth signal?

Are intellectual rights more protected in Malaysia and Indonesia? I highly doubt that. Maybe they're just not as technologically advanced to produce products and sell them to the US at a large enough scale. I recall seeing a lot of counterfeit Coca Cola and Starbucks t-shirts being sold on the streets the last time I was over there. Seems like there's no copyright protection there or at least it isn't enforced.

That thought crossed my mind too, but when an iPhone is rebooted it won't connect to Wi-Fi automatically and the iPhone X on stage was already connected to Wi-Fi.
