In this case, there might be a small reason to buy - to retool the factory for micro led displays.

I find it odd that this is such a sticking point with people. If Apple only sold the monster for $6000 with the stand it would still be well below what others offer and those that want to use a VESA setup would have an amazing piece of engineering they couldn't use.

Shut the hell up. Their $1000 stand is as ridiculous as their $400 wheels. I understand (and do not complain) about the technology behind the entire system being expensive, but a stand and some wheels at such a high price is ludicrous. I can buy a couple of Apple devices for the total of those two.

The stand is sold out. Contrary to your nonsense, people are buying them to where Apple can’t make them fast enough.  You may think it’s ridiculously priced, but many others apparently don’t.  Kind of makes your “opinion” (because that’s what it is) moot.

You come across as jealous. 

i am really curious about the wheels though. everything else is turning out to be reasonably priced or cheaper.

the monitor stand can be a cheap vesa if you want, those with the apple $1k stand say it is really amazing and in reviews it looks amazing.

maybe the $400 wheels have built in smarts or something we don’t know about. clever locking or sensors or who knows what.

i am curious about the rules of this forum, from my experience some years back - making direct attacks and insults toward a poster leads to posts being removed and ban warnings.

regardless the neck swivel pointlessness of 55” monitors, it strikes me that the moderators are not upholding rules.

after all if i started calling people fucking idiots in my posts i would expect to get a ban hammer, and yet.....
